Magna Learning Partnership Schools’ STARS appeal sum
The five schools in Magna Learning Partnership have raised the fantastic sum of £2500 for the STARS appeal through the Spire FM ‘bring a pound to work day’ on 28th September. Students at Sarum Academy, St Edmund’s Girls’ School, Salisbury Sixth Form College, The Trafalgar School and Wyvern College raised the money through, in the case of the secondary schools, a non-uniform day and for Salisbury Sixth Form College a ‘wear black and white day’. The staff and Trustees of Magna Learning Partnership also provided their contributions.
MLP Executive Headteacher Sarah Busby was delighted with the overall amount:
‘It’s marvellous that the schools have collected so much money to contribute to the total needed for the new MRI scanner at Salisbury District Hospital. Many of our students will know someone in their family whose health has benefited from the uses of the existing scanner; we know that many more people will be helped by this second machine.’
